(UPDATED) Connecting Ingenico MOVE/5000 to a Spenda terminal


To connect the Ingenico Move/5000 terminal to your Spenda iPad terminal, please follow these instructions in order.
Please note; no other EFTPOS terminal will correctly connect to Spenda at this time.

Precheck:

  • Check both iPad iOS and Spenda app are fully updated to the latest version.


Step 1 (IPAD):

  1. Go into Settings on the iPad.

  2. Select WiFi

  3. On the connected WiFi, select the blue i symbol

  4. Turn off Private Address

  5. Make a note of the following:

    1. IP address

    2. Subnet Mask

    3. Router

Step 2 (EFT Device):

Connecting Ingenico terminal to your WIFI network

  1. Power on the Ingenico MOVE/5000 by pressing the enter button

  2. Press the FUNC button

  3. Type in “2” and press ENTER

  4. Type 0240

  5. Hit Enter x2

  6. Select Posgate

  7. Select Change

  8. DHCP On - Enter

  9. Cancel - Allow it to restart if needed

Step 3 (EFT Device):

  1. Press the FUNC button

  2. Type in “2” and press ENTER

  3. Type 0240

  4. Hit Enter

  5. Select Posgate

  6. Select Change (ETH Settings, This is setting the IP address for Ethernet, if it is connected).

  7. Select DHCP off (0)

  8. Hit enter

  9. Set the EFT IP address at the end of the IP range (ie: X.X.X.99) using the iPad IP written earlier, whilst changing the last section of numbers (The digits after the last " . ")

  10. (FOR EXAMPLE: IPAD IP is 192.168.10, with the modification we made above 192.168.99, enter this into the EFT IP settings)

  11. Write down the IP address. (This is important for entering into the IPAD later)

  12. Set subnet mask (Same as iPad’s Subnet Mask)

  13. Set gateway (Same as “Router” from the iPad)

  14. Set DNS 1 (8.8.8.8)

  15. Skip DNS 2 (Enter)

  16. Skip Broadcast (Enter)

  17. Exit with cancel

  18. Hit enter to reboot

Step 4 (EFT Device):

  1. Press the FUNC button

  2. Type in "100" and press ENTER

  3. Select Scan for networks

  4. Select your Wifi SSID/Name

  5. Enter the Wifi's password

  6. Wait until the Wifi icon on the top goes green (connected)




Step 5 (EFT Device):

  1. Select Advanced Options (After entering WIFI password on the previous step, it redirects you to the previous menu).

  2. Select My Networks (Ignore Default IP Configuration)

  3. Select WIFI SSID (That was added previously)

  4. Ensure "Force Use" is toggled on. (This is the first setting, it alternates between default use and force use) - This will return you to "My Networks".

  5. Select the WIFI SSID again.

  6. Select IP Configuration

  7. Set DHCP activation to "OFF" - ENTER.

  8. Set IP address the same as you did for the Func2 menu EFT (ie: X.X.X.99) (Ipad IP with the high range)

  9. Set subnet mask (Same as iPad’s Subnet Mask)

  10. Set gateway (Same as “Router” from the iPad)

  11. Set DNS 1 (8.8.8.8)

  12. Skip DNS 2 (Enter)

  13. Select PING

  14. Enter iPad’s original IP address ( and hit enter

    1. Ideally, you should see 4/4 responses (goes by very quickly) [This means the EFT terminal can find the iPad on the network].

  15. Exit with Cancel and Save settings.



Step 6 (EFT Device):
  1. Press the FUNC button

  2. Type in "6" then press ENTER

  3. Ensure the device is hovered over "GPRS", if not use the F3 key and press "ENTER"

  4. The device should go back to the Home Screen and might perform a logon/TMS download


Step 7 (EFT Device):

  1. Press "Menu"

  2. Press "2" for Terminal

  3. Press "3" for Other

  4. Press "1" for Interface

  5. If the device asks for a password enter in the last 4 digits of the business MID number (Usually point on any EFT receipt print out)

  6. Select Wifi using the F3 button to scroll through the Menu

  7. Ensure "server" is selected using the F3 key and press ENTER.

  8. Type in the port number 4643 and press ENTER

  9. Scroll to SSL "ON" using the F3 key and press ENTER

  10. Scroll to "POSGATE" using the F3 key and press ENTER (This will return to step 6, hit cancel to exit menu).

  11. The Device will now restart and save its new settings if any settings were changed.

Connection to Spenda POS (Ipad Device)

  • Close the shift if you have one open.

  • Force Close Spenda.

  • Navigate to "Settings" on the iPad.

  • Select Spenda App from the list within Settings.

  • Ensure "Local Area Network" - Allows Spenda to Access is on.

  • Select EFTPOS Device.

  • Select the Ingenico Move/5000 from the options list.

  • Fill in the EFTPOS Terminal IP Address (the IP you wrote down earlier).

  • Navigate to Advanced Settings and ensure Port Number 4643 is set.

  • Open Spenda, you MAY be prompted by "Do you want to connect this device to the network?" click yes (this is important for Spenda to identify the device).

  • Do a Test transaction (You just need to see the figures appear on the EFT device and ensure no error pops up). After hitting pay on the iPad, it may prompt you again to "Allow connection to the device", make sure to press Yes.

*This connection should not break, unless iPad settings are changed, or your WiFi signal is not available.*
